Funnel neck is what that's called. Here is the URL for the pattern picture, which should work for at least a while: http://www.simplicity.com/assets/9513/9513.jpg I like this pattern; it has a little shaping. I know what you mean about bulk on a hood!

Anne thanks for the url I changed it, and funnel neck is it, couldn't think of it offhand. KS3155 has any easy neckline slit, it involves a centre front seam, I might try substituting it next time, easy to alter mine to suit it.
