Thanks for pointing this pattern out; it's very hard to find men's shirt patterns that don't have a dropped shoulder. 4/3/04 7:18 AM

A good basic pattern in different fabrics can really work. Now I just have to get that basic pattern - I'm looking at this & the Kwik Sew shirt 2777. 4/3/04 8:32 AM

I think it debuted about two years ago, but I can't remember exactly. If you've got a Joann's store nearby, you can find it there. Or, if you prefer to order online, most of the sewing supply websites that are sponsers of PR will have it for sale too. Judy, thanks so much for the review! I was wondering about the tightness factor myself, because it looks "Tom Ford tight" from Burda's picture! Glad to hear that the actual pattern allows more room. Your gents look very sharp! The fit is just right -- enough to show off their fit bodies, but not so fitted as to create awkward creases at the placket (as so many other "fitted" shirts do). That was a wise idea to eliminate the pocket! Strange proportion and placement -- I wish Burda would go back to scaling their pockets proportionally like they did in the 90s, and not just tacking them on every-which-way and every-which-size like they seem to favor doing now. 4/4/04 7:50 PM

I am wondering if the Burda has a narrower armscye? Except for that, I love the KS pattern, especially the collar, which is perfect. Anyone else had this problem? 4/4/04 10:25 PM

This review came just in time: I saw this pattern in the latest catalogue and was wondering whether to buy it, or just stick to the Kwik-Sew pattern I use all the time (and just omit the sleeves for the sleeveless version), and was wavering... but this has decided me. I will get it... or will I? MAYBE! 7/10/04 4:24 AM
