Holy Flicker -- This is a great tutorial for those new to bag sewing. Your beautiful batik wedges look perfect with the horizontal piece at the top of the shell and your stitching is impeccable. It takes a lot of work and time to put a bag together like this one, but the results can be very satisfying. I might add this pattern to my growing stash of bag patterns -- There's no fitting issues!

Thanks for this overview of the actual construction. That is very helpful to help me visualize how a bag like this comes together. Very nice bag, too, by the way and I think it is even nicer than the one on the pattern envelope. This patchwork effect brings to mind Coach purses which are quite out of my price range (but not of my daughter's, apparently).
