That must be one of the absolutely top photographs ever on this site. You look like a movie star from a bygone era. And yes, very luminous. Who's the photographer? Oh, and you made your dress? :-P

Great dress Erica. I adore that fabric. The action you used adds a nice "feel" to the picture.

It's not often that the finished product looks better than it did on the model on the pattern envelope but this is one of those times. Beautiful work!
Paris75008 said... (5/17/10 6:51 AM) Reply
Wow, that dress is simply splendid and you look positively stunning wearing it. You wear it SO much better than the model in the picture on your blog.

Gorgeous as always, I love the pleats, it fits you beautifully. I think we must have similar taste, every time I find a pattern I like, I google it, and there's almost always a review by you for the same pattern lol. I'd love to make a dress like that, but with so many pieces, forget it!!! LOL

Wow... When I opened the first photo I could have sworn I was looking at a magazine shot. Glamour and style galore! This is an amazing piece of work and I really love your decision to add piping at the waist section rather than contrasting fabric. I had to laugh when I looked on your blog and saw the difference between the photos of the model on the pattern envelope, the wire mannequin and you. No contest!!

Aixoise said... (5/15/10 12:53 PM) Reply
Erica, You look like a movie star - only classier. What a stunning dress. The fabric choice is perfect, and, you're right - the piping makes it "pop." Beautiful interior finishing, as well. Keep these reviews coming. I always learn from what you do and enjoy seeing your work.
