I just bought this pattern and thank you for the helpful review..your jacket is adorable. I am planning a linen jacket, but now have added an evening version to the list also..glad to see you had no problems with the pattern.

I agree about front closure. I would sew a frog. They have them at Joann's. At least that would hold it shut at the top. For your arms, you just need to measure from the cap to the wrist, and also, the inner seam. I have found my arm is a little longer than the commercial patterns, so I end up adding more, and it is generally too much. But that is better than having to add a band at the bottom, riight? And you are lucky it could fit without having to add darts. That makes it fun and easy. Being it is silk, I would find something in the house to at least line the front considering it flies open, it could be anything that matches even a print. Well, since you do hand stitching, that would be another evening, but I think, well worth it. I could use a jacket like that, but I think I could take any dolman sleeve pattern, cut up the front and call it a jacket as well. I like to have coverings for spring as well. Thanks for posting
