I've found cotton cords don't tend to untie themselves as much as ribbons. Every chemise I've got with ribbons for drawstrings has to be double-knotted, but the ones with cotton cords don't. It's the difference between about $0.05/yd and $0.60/yd, but the extra dollar is usually worth it to me.

It does look comfortable, and the square armhole on this pattern looks interesting. Thanks for the drawstring tips!

it does look comfortable and looks as if it would make a nice peasant style top for non Renn wear.
