The zipper is sewn first, right sides together on case, then wrong sides together on lining. Then you unzip the zipper and sew the case, right sides together and the lining, right sides together, leaving an opening in the lining to turn right side out. It seemed strange to me when I initially read the pattern. As I was doing it (with what felt like fabric in all the wrong places), I just took my time and followed the instructions. Of course it made sense when I was finished. I hope this helps, although I'm afraid I may have confused you, lol. I'll get better at my reviews. If you're interested in this pattern you should get it. Don't let my horrible zipper installation explanation scare you away!

Could you say more about the zipper installation? How was it odd?
