said... Mini, thank you. This phrase of yours is going to stick in my head (if I don't actually print it out and glue-stick it to my eyebrows) as I look at the pattern books and pattern websites. I think your observation is just a gem: "combination of artful fashion photography and wishful thinking." 5/30/02 3:42 PM

said... Your reviews are always so precise. It is a good lesson for all of us to remember to look for details on armholes, sleeve width, etc. I so often picture myself looking fantastic in certain styles, then reality sets in and I choose the style I know is more appropriate for my real-life body. Ahhh, but just for a moment I looked like Julia Roberts! 5/30/02 5:54 PM
said... Mini - I fell for the same pattern for the same reasons you did. I started with the pants, realized that never in this life will I look good in pants this straight and wide, and aired my disappointment for the whole world to read - at least the part of the world that reads PR. This pattern is, I believe, one of the KS rarities: the artwork looks better than the reality of the design. Thanks for sharing. 5/30/02 11:00 PM
said... Thanks for reviewing this - I'm like you in that I don't need all that fullness under the arm. I usually end up lengthening tops so they hit below my "fullest" part. Don't want to draw attention to that!! Great, detailed review. I'm glad you made muslin and didn't waste the good stuff. 5/31/02 10:22 AM
said... Mini - I have printed out your statement - the one regarding fashion photography and wishful thinking - in a "suitable for framing" style. It will soon grace the wall of my sewing room. 6/2/02 11:05 AM
