The jacket looks great on you. Would love to see your DD's jacket also! Kay

Great jacket! When I sew a Jalie pattern, I scan the instructions and the illustrations, and print them on letter size paper. It's easier to keep handy when you're sewing.

Both jackets look great! I have never tried a Jalie pattern, but they sure get good reviews.

I wasn't aware that Jalie had a jeans jacket pattern! Thanks for the review. Yours look great.

Thanks for the review. I have the pattern, and it's very helpful to see someone's personal experience. Great looking jackets!

The jackets look absolutely terrific! You did a wonderful job on them and they do look professionally done. I also confess to a secret yearning to buy both the pattern and the sparkle denim from Julie to duplicate your daughter's jacket. About how long did it take to sew up these twenty pieces? And did the second one go faster than the first?

Classy jackets. What did you use for buttons?

Thanks for the flattering comments, everyone! Sewgirl, I'll try scanning and reprinting the instructions on the next Jalie pattern I try (I have about 3 more to try!). I used metal buttons on both jackets, although DD's are different than the ones on mine. They were on 50% off at my local chain the week before I cut these out. I think it took me about 2 weeks or so to make these up, but in between I had to work on 18 school quilts at DD's school (now that was an ORDEAL!) The second one definitely sewed up faster than the first, even with the underlining. I'm sure a third will be a snap!

Good review. I have yet to make this pattern. Maybe because of the 22 pieces. Your and your DD's jackets look great.

Sort of a silly question: I have two sons. Do you think the pattern would work for boys? Thank you for pointing out various tips and procedures you used. I would like to make a sophisticated,well- fitted jacket, and I know that following your suggestions- underlining, and paired threads, will make this possible. Sincerely, ari
