Your skirt looks great, you convinced me to make my own! And thank you for a very informative review - I too got scared of the volume halfway through and your note about it turning out OK really made me feel better. I also took your suggestion and am making mine in a cotton gauze.

Hi. I made this pattern recently, and I understand what you mean about the volume. In fact, I had the same thoughts: this would be a great square-dancing costume! I made mine in a solid dark blue cotton; and since I am very short, I left off the very last tier. I think it works for an every-day, at-home type of skirt, rather than a fashion statement. At least mine does. Like you, I think if a drapier fabric like gauze were used, it might hang better........less volume. Yours looks nice on you. It's youthful looking without being teen-aged.
