What exactly isn't working for you -- the fit or the fabric? I think your fabric is kind of neat, but I can't tell from the photo how it actually hangs on your body. Maybe shortening it into a tunic or top might be the ticket, if you think it is too shapeless. Any chance you might post a photo of you in the dress so we might help better? I know exactly what you mean about loving a fabric, for whatever reason, but not feeling comfortable with the pattern choice or fit of the garment. I am certain you can get something you like, with a little fooling around. Embrace the adventure!

I was wondering whether a thick brown belt at the waist to show off your curves as well as adding some brown godets to the skirt would help (says she who hasn't had the nerve to post anything yet!)
