I hear you about zippers. They are still a bane for me as well. Overall though, I really think you did great, and this turned out to be a very pretty dress! Your DD looks really lovely in it :)

Thanks for the review! The dress is absolutely adorable, even if it didn't look like the envelope and wasn't what you had hoped. Your daughter will definitely be wearing the most lovingly made, cute outfit at the Eid party!

The only way we get any better at sewing is to practice and it sounds like you're really taking a lot away from this experience. And your daughter looks beautiful so I think it turned out very well.

You're learning fast. And the dress looks fine, I bet what people really will notice is how pleased & happy your daughter is wearing it! You could still make a separate belt or sash to bring in the waist, you could stitch it on at the side seam. Happy 'eid to all of you.
