What a cute dress! I've seen this fabric and really liked it. This is a great match of fabric and pattern. Your niece looks very nice, and happy, in this dress - perfect for the warm weather.

Love the fabric. Lucky Aunt! Lucky niece! I too think it's weird that patterns run large for children and small for adults. Hmmm....

You may want to try "stitching in the ditch" to keep the facings in place. I have good results w/ it. Your niece is beautiful- I love her smile! And, of course, the dress is very pretty!

Not a terribly exciting pattern from the envelope drawings, but the finished product looks great on your niece. I like these simple styles on girls of that age. FYI, many of us have found, I believe, that pattern sizing for kids is not reliably related to ready-to-wear sizes. Esp. for thinner children. It's often an easy alteration to use a smaller size for width, and then just add to the length, though.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. Candyo, thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely try that when faced with this problem again. She was very happy with it, so I'll be making her more stuff. Kids are so easy to please. ;o)
