Great to read the reviews on this pattern as I am about to use it for the 2nd time and am now coming to the conclusion that this pattern needs a knit fabric if it's going to work well! That's fine with me as it saves fiddling with zippers! You can see my last attempt at this pattern on my flickr site www.flickr.com/photos/jonniangeldesigns - the points I would say from making it in the silk type fabric is that the midriff section was very tight at the waist - hence my thinking around it needing to be a knit :) 1/2/11 8:23 PM
Jonni Angel said... To update anyone who may be reading up on this pattern, I have now finished 3 dresses (soon to start a 4th) using this pattern and a polyester knit fabric. I have made them as pull on dresses with no zipper. My 1st model was bust size 35 inch and I ended up cutting a size 4 width with a size 10 length on just the bodice. Her hip measurement was 38 inch and I cut a size 10 skirt. I found the midriff pattern piece useless!!! I recommend you draw up your own once you have worked out the correct bodice and skirt - if using a knit. I have to say, with all these problems ironed out, myself and my models are very pleased with the outcome. Hope this helps :) 1/28/11 7:18 PM
