Great dress, lovely colour and beautiful ruffle detailing. With Simplicity they do run large in the area above the armpit especially so if you didn't choose your pattern by high bust measurement but your full bust measurement that could explain things. I read this in Sandra Betzina's books and that it is easier to adjust for a full bust if necessary than to try to deal with sizing down the shoulder and neckline area.

Way to step out with vibrant color. You look like royalty. With all the adjustments you made, you certainly got the fit to work in the end. At some point, you might even shorten the dress and it will be perfect for your next cocktail party. Bravo!
