Oh la la, what a beautiful dress, Leslie. You will wow them in NYC with your custom outfit. I can "see" the original top pattern in your dress, but wow, what a fabulous interpretation of what started as a simple top!

Leslie, what a wonderful and deeply exciting dress! I dont suppose your fabric grew, giving you all that added length? Stretch lace on the table is very different when its hanging vertically, the weight could have made it get longer.

I agree -- the dress is jaw-dropping fabulous and 'beginner' is WAY outdated! And I know what you mean about hubby expressing a preference...I'd wear to death any garment my sweetie showed particular attratction to ;) Ah, well, fashion just ain't his thing...

I agree - beginner is an outdated rating - and what is Power Dry? looks great - i want some...also, does anyone else have suggestions on what are good lining fabrics besides the basic "china silk" poly lining fabric? thanks! Oh - and gorgeous dress!

OMG!!!!! Your dress is absolutely PERFECT! Your DH has excellent taste. He can moonlight as a stylist! I would LOVE to see a photo of you wearing this, maybe from the wedding? You're going to be turning heads this weekend, men's and women's!

Leslie, what an elegant, gorgeous stunning dress you made. It’s perfect, thumbs up for your husband who pointed you in the right dress direction. You can be real proud of yourself to accomplish this outfit, which helped your sewing skills and conscious going up.

Wonderful! Beautiful work. Don't you hate it when the camera shows every little detail that the naked eye wouldn't see? I find this on almost every review of mine. Now I'm quite distressed that I didn't get in on the power dry thing. Drat!

Wow wowee wow wow. I LOVE THIS DRESS! Your dress is as beautiful as your review was fun to read. And the original mauve pink dress is pretty hot, too. Was that the one that you had to extract the reek of perfume from? Really fantastic!

It's amazing how this quickie knit top morphed to a lace dress with a retro feel. You'll look like one of those Hollywood glamour stars of the '40's. Rita Hayworth comes to mind. Would love to see how you accessorize it.
