I love your helpful fitting tips. I have made this dress from her original patterns, but not from the McCalls pattern even though I have it. I would like to try the double skirt.

To saint nol Says: I would only put in double skirt again if I used lighterweight fabric. I think the quilting cotton double skirt pulls the bodice down too much and because it's eldtic it stretches down the chest too much . I think I might actually remove the underskirt because my daughter says it feels heavy.
