Good luck! I have been exploriing corsetry - but for CW Reenacting purpose. but same challenges, fit materials.. Challenges for a garment we 21st century gals are unfamiliar with so hard to have much first hand knowledge! You might want -- if not been there already -- check Linda Spark's book on Corsets and the Farthingale DVD if you need pictures to get stuff thru your head (like me!).

Got the Sparks book, got the Waugh book, got the Salen book ... armed with a bunch of bookmarks as well :) I've been researching since last year, doubly so since spring so I can make my Renn Faire garb. This particular pattern is not historic, and this is also my second time making it. If only this head cold would let me breathe right now ...
