Sizing in patterns and sizing in RTW have little to do with each other. You have to go by measurements. Most patterns give finished measurement of the garment and the body measurement for the person. Trying to align it with RTW will bring you nothing but frustration.

I know! Unfortunately it is the measurements that are off. Just to make sure that it wasn't me, I measured the actual pattern, accounted for seam allowances, etc. and it is still bigger than the measurements on the package.
