The jacket is beautiful on you and the buttons only add to the overall look. The French seaming is a great idea. Enjoyed your blog. Hope you enjoyed or are enjoying the design school. Would like to hear more about that experience.

Ooooo, how CUTE, Fran! You've taken this SEVERAL STEPS above that which is shown on the pattern envelope, with the custom-made buttons, turquoise silk, French seams and Hong Kong finish. Beautiful! Are you doing the Stitchers' Guild 12 jackets in 2011 sew-along? If not, you should think about it. :o)

What a neat idea to make your own fabric for the buttons. The jacket looks so nice, and those creative buttons add such a nice detail!
