Pattern Description: Simplicity 3677
Pattern Sizing: I cut a size 12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? No.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes but they needed tweaking.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn't like the straight boxy look of the coat nor the lack of lining instructions. I didn't even get instructions for the shirt.
Fabric Used: Chenille for the coat. Linen for the pants and shirt. I didn't make the corset because it looks like it would cut in uncomfortably at the waist.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added a bag lining, french cuts to the coat, made the coat sleeves detachable and practically redesign the pants.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I wouldn't sew this coat again. I don't recommend the pants at all. The shirt is a good basic pattern and I would use it again. I would recommend the coat for a play or Halloween costume. If you are into renaissance faires (like me) be ready to tweak it to make it wearable season after season. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have bothered with this coat pattern.
