You can't go by regular clothing size measurements! That's probably what your dear mil was going by. The last person who wanted my measurements long distance asked me to take my natural measurements RIGHT THEN, using 2 fingers under the tape measure and only reporting inches, so I didn't know what size I was getting until I got it and it fit.
