In the end, I sewed a loop of thin elastic (1/4 inch or less maybe?) into the seam at the bottom of the bag at the center. I then folded the bag lengthwise into 3 and rolled tight starting at the handles working to the base and sewed a button onto the outside of the bag so I could just roll it up and fasten with the elastic. I did something similar to betty bushwacker for my grocery bags, but I added the elastic loop to the top, and a large button, so I could use it to roll up the bag, or to close the bag when it wasn't too full. I just used hair elastics since I can buy a pack with lots of fun colors for cheap. 2/7/11 10:21 AM
