These are really cute. Looks like they'd work well for a boy, too. Great tip on the ties. Do they stay up well? (I have a child bigger at the waist than hips.)

o3b, yes, the elastic works well to keep them up for her. There is a pattern in the same magazine for boys (pattern #29) that uses most of the same pieces but no ties and has knee patches.
