Great looking skirt! I just made version A but will definately try this pleated back next. Funny you had a problem with the side zip, mine ended up on the right hand side, after checking and re-checking :)

This looks great. I did the same skirt, and found it easy to line. Use the skirt pieces, but take off the waist facing. Sew a 'skirt' from the lining without the zipper and leave the seams open where the zipper would go. Sew the top of the skirt to the bottom of the lining. With the pleated or flounced versions, just leave the lining seams open from the top of the insert to the hem.
