Peg, I have looked hard at the dress you are trying to copy and I wonder if the straight grain of the blue fabric is running from the left shoulder over to the right breast... so the drape under the breasts is on the bias, which is why it falls in that graceful curve. I also wonder if I am seeing a few gathers on the left shoulder, which would also help create fullness in the curve. Then, I think the tan insert might be on yet another bias.
