That is REALLY cute and I want this book! However, after reading your review ... I'm a tad intimidated. Not sure I'm up for the challenge.

don't be! it's totally manageable - the book is really clear on what gets attached to what, good notching, easy-to-follow diagrams, marked seam lines. It goes together in a flash with very little tricky sewing...getting the gathers even and putting in the zipper are the only even remotely tricky bits.
