Welcome to PR. Great job on your first clothing project. You will find lots of help here on PR, so be sure to check out the reviews before you cut a pattern. In Sewinginthewind's review she comments on how big this is due to a lot of ease (the measurement of the garment above the actual body measurements): http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=55188 I never use a pattern before reading the reviews, and always get great tips and ideas.

Congratulations on your first project! It really came out cute. Finding your pattern size is somewhat of an art--I always go by the finished garment measurements printed on the pattern tissue at bust, waist, and hip rather than the alleged size (usually too large due to excess ease--but not always which is why you have to check the finished measurements on every pattern).

I made this top last summer (in fact it looks alot like yours) and also found it runs a bit large. I second nicegirl's recommendation to do lots of measuring before cutting (measuring of you, the pattern and other items of clothing in your closet). It won't take long to get the fit aspect of sewing all figured out. From your (tiny) photo you don't appear to have any major fit challenges. It helps to "favorite" some PR members who have figure types similar to yours and see how they are adjusting patterns. Welcome to PR and here's to many more successful sewing adventures. Beware, this sewing thing can take on a life of its own.

Wish I could see a bigger photo, but looks like you did a great job for your first project! I just bought this pattern yesterday, and now need to find the right fabric.
