The fabric in the pattern photo is either shantung or dupioni. They are both available at JoAnn's in a polyester version, and in silk online. They are pretty similar, but the shantung is usually a little smooter with smaller "slubs" that appear in lines across the grain. Of course, the silk shantung or silk dupioni is better, but the polyester is very nice, too. Both are easy to work with.
