Fabric:Cotton Sateen  [See other projects in this fabric]
Pattern Description:
A vintage Hawaiian style muu-muu, from tiki craze days. Easy to sew, no zippers. Fitted front made possible with a bra strap sewn inside.
Pattern Sizing:
Great! I made a MISS 14. I am 36-30-38.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes! I barely used them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like fitted front and flowy back.

Fabric Used:
Cotton Sateen
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made a muslin of the front of the dress and a little bit of the back. I gave myself 5/8" bigger arm hole for my big guns and that made a nice difference. Also, inside the dress, there is a strap to pull the front tight. I lowered that a bit to my waist because it wasn't flattering me enough.

After a few wears, I learned the seams on each shoulder and the front of the neckline would greatly benefit from being reinforced somehow. I notice the thread pulling on the dress in those spots.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Absolutely! This dress was fantastic. Easy, quick, rewarding. This is a wonderful pattern for the beginner.

How fun! I love it. Makes me think I should make a similar one that I have in my stash from Polynesian Patterns, except mine's a full length. Great job!

Very pretty fabric. Such a good fit! I really like this pattern from my teenage days! Good to see it's still being worn.

Very nice, a perfect fit, and great in that fabric. I like muumuus (or the idea of muumuus) myself so it's great to see a real-life example.

Your garment is better looking than the envelope! I would love to see this made in a rayon, You got the cotton to drape well even though it has so much body. Fun design!

I wouldn't have thought the words "elegant" and "muumuu" could be used together... but you've proved otherwise! Gorgeous and unique style. Have fun wearing it. :)
