I am so grateful for your review; it confirms that I'm not crazy. I just Goggled reviews for this pattern, and blogger after blogger seems to think it's wonderful. I think you're right on about the lack of pattern drafting expertise and the incorrect terminology. I'd agree that it's a cute and unusual style, but the pattern directions made a simple shape into an unnecessary production, And it is NOT a good pattern for all figures; it's unflattering for those who are any larger than a B-cup. To fix it, I'm going to redraft the bodice, and I will not be using the messy gathering -- I think that pleats made with my perfect pleater will be will be much more attractive, and less bunchy. 12/26/11 6:21 PM Maia B said...
