Glad to see you back sewing! You have me thinking spring with that fabric. This is probably a stupid question, but... why would you do down more with a heavier fabric? Wouldn't the extra fabric thickness require the space? Oh, perhaps it is because you would be going for a different look with a heavier fabric?

Anne, I guess in a heavier fabric I would be going for a more tailored look. Kind of like a suit skirt. This was to be a sort of "picnic skirt", the type of thing to wear if you want to be comfortable, but do not want to wear shorts. I'll wear it with a sleeveless black silk shirt and black sandals. BTW, This skirt hangs just the way the model in the pattern photo's does, not so much like the illustration.
