Its an attractive dress, well done for perservering with all the alterations. The information about distressing the silk is useful too, its true dupioni can be a bit crisp and shiny when you get it. The colour you've achieved with this suits your colouring, and it has a classy look, right for your very special occasion.

I've got that pattern, too, but haven't dared touching it yet. Yours suits you very well, you look like a Grande Dame. You should wear it much more often than just on very special occasions. Or maybe make one more in a light wool oder light linen and wear this on just regular days. I like it very much on you!
