Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, it's pretty basic
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really liked that it had a lining in the bodice instead of facings. Looks more finished, although there is a raw seam on the waist line which looks a little more unfinished, but it is easier than slip stitching so i don't mind that much. I love the little ruffle sleeve and how it is attached between the lining. looks very clean that way.
Fabric Used: pink corduroy with shirting fabric as lining
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: i added a lining to the skirt too because my corduroy was a little thinner than i thought it was going to be (i was afraid it would be too see-through in the sun). The way i attached the lining was by cutting the skirt pieces a little shorter than the pattern and also narrowing the top to take out the pleats (so the lining doesn't have pleats). Then i sewed it right sides together to the bottom hem, turned it wrong sides together and ironed it so the lining is about 1 inch above the bottom of the skirt and just attached the top wrong sides together at the waist seem. I just tried it this way because i thought the hem would be cleaner, (and it saved on some hemming time) but there may be better ways to add a lining. The lining makes it a little more poofy, which can be good and bad. I am yet undecided if i like lining this way or not.
I also added the pockets because my daughter will only wear things with pockets right now.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. It is a pretty easy pattern. Pleats can be a little tricky to get lined up just right, but they are a nice change from the standard gathered skirts i have been doing lately.
Conclusion: Cute basic pattern, relatively easy. Lots of options for customizing it.
Very cute!
