Nice touch on the neckline! Very Audrey Hepburn. About those folds, the wrinkles point to the problem. Maybe you have to add a bit more to the bust area to make up for the lack of stretch in the fabric?

Pretty top. As a lazy sewer, I would ignore those folds on myself so I have no suggestions. I like the pink fabric.

I really like what you did with the neckline. I think Lorna is on the right track about needing more fabric, but I still think your top looks great, folds and all.

Oooh, what a great top!

I think the top needs a dart. You need the extra fabric to go around the bust, but you don't need it above the bust. The dart will, also, give you shaping over a round protrusion which the flat t-shirt doesn't.

Love this top! I have made this pattern 3 times now, and have wondered how to vary the neckline. I love how you did this! How wide did you make the band/collar?

sewsue, good question! I didn't actually measure it! Just the width of my ruler---it's about 7cm, fold it in half, so about 3cm wide with .5cm seam allowance.

I just noticed this old review of yours--inspired by the New Look Top you reviewed today [1-4-05] I like your neckline better than the original!
