Pattern Description:
Zip-front jacket or hoodie with front pockets in princess seam and self-fabric cuffs and hem bands and stylish topstitching. I made the jacket. Pattern Sizing:
Standard Jalie, girls 2-womens 22. I made a G (size 3) width with I (size 5) length for a teeny 7yo gymnast. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, although I color blocked mine. I am intending to make myself a jacket, as a figure skater I adore warm up jackets, but thought it would be easiest to test the pattern in a little size first - for my little cousin. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, I did have a little trouble with the collar attachment but that may have been me. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Great modern style for jackets! Easy to do and looks great - probably only took me a day to put it all together, including tracing the size off. I serged most of it so the inside looks great too. Fabric Used:
Black Polartec Powerstretch and fuchsia stretch velvet. I used a black plastic separating zipper and added a fuchsia glitz heart to the chest. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the collar and side panels out of a contrasting stretch velvet and then made matching warm up pants (self drafted to fit her tiny size). She adores the outfit and wears it every single time to gymnastics - she looks just like the big girls! Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Planning to make myself one next! I'm sure I will make her another when this set gets outgrown. It is a great way to use up scraps of fabric because there are so many pieces. I make powerstretch pants all the time for skating and I always have little bits around. Collar up and glitz closeup
Wonderful! Your details just make this fantastic.
