Thanks for such a detailed review. I always love reading the thought processes that go on as a design evolves! Pleating just the front and back and not the sides was a good idea, and the side by side comparison picture was very interesting. Your blue fabric is such a lovely colour and looks like it is a most beautiful polished cotton. Of course, I loved your earlier linen version for its wild hemline!
