dale C, it was what was meant to be a salwar kameez, it is another form of traditional Indian dress that has pants and a large 'shawl'(Dupata). When you buy the fabrics it comes with three coordinating fabrics, each about 2 yards. So, not a sari exactly, but very close, same subcontinent, same design sense and use of borders.

What a lovely dress and a great way to use a border print. I have a beautiful one in my stash that has been there a few years because I didn't have a project suitable for it. I'm putting this pattern on my wishlist because of your review.
