I love what you've done! Not that I am an expert by any means, but my advise to you is to learn from your mistakes, follow the pattern cutting and sewing directions very carefully, and use the appropriate fabrics for the best results. In addition, if you have time and need to be totally precise, make a muslin, or "mock up" with inexpensive fabric that you don't care about, then you can really learn about the pattern, the fit, and if you want to go forward with it. Love the 'poofyness' of the skirt! So trendy! I have seen some very stylish young women in eye catching poofy skirts lately, worn with petticoats. Yayyy! for that style coming back, although I may have to admire it from afar due to age considerations. After all, I'm pushing 60,>sigh<.

Thanks so much for your comments! I think my technique is improving slowly with each thing I make, and feedback really helps :) As for the poofyness, I totally forgot to mention that in these pictures the skirt has a double-layer net petticoat underneath it. I don't think there's an age limit on such things (rivergum!), however I feel I should make a public service announcement that sitting down in one of those things is like taking sandpaper to the derriere...
