Pattern Description:
This is Cynthia Rowley's Simplicity 2584, a simple shift dress pattern that's easy to modify for different styles.
Pattern Sizing:
I cut a 4 on top and graded down to a 12 at the hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. Instructions are very straight forward and well planned.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love how easy this pattern is to modify because of its basic shape. I have made two completely different looks with this pattern, meant for two different seasons since purchasing Simplicity 2584.
Fabric Used:
Plaid cotton. Very soft and light.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made a small back adjustment in the upper back, which I find runs a little big in this pattern. Also, I self-drafted cap sleeves instead of using the pattern pieces for longer sleeves because I wanted a summer/spring look. Lastly, I took in the waist a bit by trimming about an inch on each side at the natural waist in order to get a more fitted look.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I have already actually.
