| Photo disclaimer: I used the address from the pattern luggage tag for the photo shoot.
Pattern Description: If you want your suitcase to stand out from all the other ones in the baggage claim area, put a distinctive tag on it. These ID tags can be made up in an hour or less and require mere scraps AND they make great gifts for everyone! Have lots of fun making and using them. Front of LuggageTag Back of Luggage Tag

Pattern Sizing: One size fits all suitcases!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Very much so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Overall the instructions were well written. The only discrepancy I found was on the pattern piece sheet entitled, "ID Tag Templates". The STRAP pattern piece is marked, "Cut 2-Cotton Blend". It should read, "Cut 1-Cotton Blend" because all you'll need is one strap.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the ease of assembly.
The following is not a dislike, just something to think about when sewing the bias binding to the clear vinyl:
I chose to tape the bias binding at either end and baste it on with widely spaced stitches at the very edge of the vinyl. Scotch Magic tape (green label) left reisdue on the vinyl so I switched to Scotch Removable Tape (blue label). This left only a small amount behind. I used the tape itself to remove the residue once I was done handstitching. Once all four pieces of seam binding were in place, one short end was sewn in place by machine. I then placed the placard on top of the tag and sewed it in place on the remaining three sides using only three pins on the very edge of the vinyl to hold it in place. No special foot was required.
Close-up of Bias Trim
By sewing the bound vinyl on in this manner, the integrity can be maintained so it will last longer. If you were to sew two rows of stitching, as instructed, it might weaken the outer margins and cause the stitching lines to act as perferations and thus, make it easy to tear off.
Fabric Used: The fabric used for the label is a 100% quilting cotton from Cinnamon's Quilt Shoppe in Jacksonville, FL. The strap fabric is Symphony Broadcloth from Jo-Ann's. The bias binding came from a package of notions I picked up at a thrift store.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used 12-gauge vinyl instead of the 8-guage called for in the pattern. Not long ago, I bought a distinctive cat luggage tag for my suitcase so that I could spot it easily at the airport. The vinyl has already become perferated even though I don't even use the tag to hold an I.D. label. I want to make sure this one holds up for years to come.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, this is a great beginner project, quick going-away gift, or a great gift to give anyone who is going off to college or will be traveling a lot.
Conclusion: Great companion to The Aero Pac, an organizer for all your traveling documents. I made this luggage tag to accompany The Aero Pac that I gave to a dear friend for Christmas. I still have three more sets to make!
