Very cute! In the warm areas of Australia we make these from a fabric that is called muslin here but is probably called something else in the USA. It is a very light gauzy fabric a little like cheesecloth. I always liked them larger than the commercial ones too. Your friend will be happy to receive this gift.

What a cutie! The swaddler is very nice, too ;) My daughter loved these for her kids, although they were new to me. The babies seem so happy in them that I'm a convert.
