Pattern Sizing:
I chose a size 12 after trying on muslins in Jennifer Sterns jeans fit class last summer at the ASG conference. This is my second finished pair!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, exactly. Really, the fit was everything.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The pattern instructions are extremely clear. Jennifer also has blog posts about the pattern amplifying and clarifying any part that may be troublesome in the execution on a pair of jeans, like the zipper for instance. And, you can purchase a workshop book on her website tailored for jeans fitting. This really helped.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like everything about this pattern.
Fabric Used:
I used stretch denim (with about 30% stretch). JStern recommends 2-3% denim. Therefore, although I left the inseam with the normal SA - I did increase the outer SA with a 3/4" SA.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Please note that my alterations have been deepening the crotch (front and back) and extending the crotch curve slightly (front and back). I also took out 3 inches in the thighs (as JStern suggests) for a good bootcut fit.
I also recommend facing your pockets with silk organza and reinforcing the top part of the pocket (to eliminate stretching). My pockets don't have hoods (the red is enough!) and are stitched down into the back of the jean (they are mock).
I didn't flat fell stitch the inner or outer seams. I have a lapped seam foot for jeans but somehow cannot get a good straight seam. I could on the back yoke but haven't managed it for the long seams
Finally, I wait until the inner and outseams are sewn before putting the pockets on. I simply hand tailor the pocket placement - it makes it a bit more difficult to sew the pockets on . . . but worth it to me..
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Conclusion:
Highly recommended. I didn't realize red jeans were so in this year - I bought the fabric from Mood LA in September. Love the pattern - they can be high or low rise, by the way! It's amazing how your clothes feel that much better when they are fitted correctly!
