I just made this dress in view D, and also had WAY too much extra fabric in the sleeve. I think it's a pattern flaw - if you "walk" the sleeve to the bodice you will notice everything matches until you get to the upper dot, and then you would be expected to cram in twice as much sleeve as you have bodice. Too bad, it'a a cute style. I solved my problem by opening up the bodice sleeve opening a bit - I hope it still fits my DGD.
