Pattern Description:
Mid-knee length, pleated skirts have a faced yoke and back zipper closure; skirt A has slash front pocket with band and contrasting lower band; skirts B&C have side seam pockets; skirt B has carriers & sash; skirt C has ribbon trim at lower edge. Pattern Sizing:
Size AA (6, 8, 10, 12) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes but I modified slightly. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the pockets and this did not disappoint. Fabric Used:
I used a woven cotton with a 2 or 3% lycra, so it had a bit of stretch. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Instead of the contrast band, I added the same amount of that piece to the body of the skirt, I think around 5", just to have the same length. I am short (5'3"), so I ended up hemming a good 3" to get it to hit the mid-knee. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Possibly and I would recommend it to others but it does add volume because of the pleats. I wasn't concerned since I made a 10 and it came out as I had hoped. Conclusion:
This skirt is really cute especially with the pockets and will work great in the summer. As far as I can tell the pattern was well drafted and came together with no problems.
