Okay, this is the 2nd project I made from the 2012 January Jean Recycle Project for Sew Much Talent, a full apron. You recall, the first project I shared was the half apron. There is yet one more project to be seen.
Here, I used front of the jean pants to help create this apron, along with part of each leg from the jeans. The other materials I already had or swapped. The bottom half of the apron, the printed fabric, is a piece that I purchased years ago from Hancock fabric. This fabric was specifically made that year for people to purchase and volunteer to make something for the kids of St. Jude. This is what I had left.
The crochet trim that I used came from one of my sewing buddies at SMT, we swapped trims and, mine arrived in enough time to add to my apron. The trimmed match perfectly. Crochet trim up close
I finished off the apron by adding the waist ties and the neck tie from the St. Jude Fabric. I added large (#2) snapsfor fastening the neck tie to the apron. I machined stitched about a 3-4" deep hem. Finally, I added little purple rosettes on the bib section. And, I almost forgot, I just finished the edges off by using a small serging stitch.
Well, as I said in the first review, I gave this apron to mom, which you can see her here proudly modeling it. She celebrated her 69th birthday in January~ and, she has no problem sharing her age.
Okay, now onto the 3rd and final project for this 2012 January Jean Recycle Project. There I will share my slide show of all my projects, and the video of all the finished projects.
