|Pattern Description: I chose the flat (not gathered) sleeves and flared skirt options and bypassed the bows, tabs, and pockets. My fabric pattern is busy enough already!|
Pattern Sizing: I cut the 10, which seemed to run true. The pattern has finished size clearly stated, which helped me tremendously.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? mostly. The second time I made this pattern, I both slip stitched the collar facing and sewed the center back skirt seam after installing the zip instead, which seemed more logical.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I absolutely adore this pattern and will make many more. It takes me about a day to sew one start to finish. It's tricky to get the neckband perfectly joined to the bodice without a pucker, however, but I now use Colette Pattern's suggestion for inserting the Negroni sleeves and just sew an inch or two at a time and realign instead of pinning.
Fabric Used:Moda quilting cotton, that I fell in love with the moment I saw it. Update: I have since made this in seersucker and lightweight denim, with great results.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I did a sba. I also lengthened the bodice half an inch and added piping to the neckband/ yoke thingy.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes! I did a wearable muslin of this in an inexpensive red polka dot, got tons of compliments, and couldn't wait to make it again in my 'real' fabric. More details on
my blogConclusion: thumbs up, people!
