I'm currently working on this pattern and I've been using a knit fabric to test the pattern. It turns out that I've used the the zipper foot and sewing the 1/8" seam allowance is easier than using a standard sewing foot. I'm tempted to handstitch this pattern too but I'll try sticking with the sewing machine for a bit longer.
