Sometimes I wish they wouldn't take those shortcuts in the instructions because they do lead to problems for those newer to sewing. Very cute dress and lovely fabric.

Cute dress. It is hard to find the right level of finish that is not too high or too low and accommodates all sewing abilities.

You did a great job with this dress, in spite of the quirks with this particularly pattern. I'm working on this dress right now for my daughter and was also wondering why they opted for a hemmed sash instead of a nicely finished (double-sided) one. I'm also having problems with the bodice side back pieces not matching up with the bodice front in terms of length when the side seams area sewn. I've triple-checked my pattern pieces, markings and seams, and am completely stumped as to why things aren't lining up. Hopefully we'll end up with a wearable dress out of this one, but it won't be because the pattern instructions were particularly helpful. Thanks for the review!
