Pattern Description:
This bag will hold it all without the strain on your shoulder or back. As an added bonus, it is fully compatible with the many belts in your wardrobe. Pattern Sizing:
One size, about 9"x5.5"x2.5" - it is smaller than the photo seems to imply, but big enough to hold a cellphone, a wallet, a fold up grocery bag and maybe some sunglasses. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, though it is smaller than I expected, it is still a good size for my purposes (bike rides to the market). Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy to follow along and get good results. I think practice, and now that I "get" how to add the gusset properly. The only confusing thing for me is the swivel-clasp, there are no pictures showing it, or demonstrating it, so I left it out. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Like all the projects in this book, I like that it uses only a yard of fabric (actually, even less, I had 20" of leftover Amy Bulter homedec fabric and I was still able to cut out all the pieces needed and still had a little leftover. I like that it is fully lined, making it quite sturdy.
I wish there had been a picture of the clasp. I don't really see the point of the internal pocket, so next time I wouldn't bother with it. I think the flap pocket needs a closure of some sort. Fabric Used:
Amy Butler homedec fabric Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I left out the swivel-clasp because it wasn't clear to me how it fit in. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, it is easy enough and even if it is lopsided (like mine is) it will still be useful. Conclusion:
This is a good learning curve kind of project because even if you screw up a little bit, it can still be used. I have a feeling, that as you make more of these, you can get better and better results. It would be really easy to customize this to suit your tastes and needs.

DeJa Chic this bag is so nice and the fabric makes me want it even more. I like smaller bags this one holds just enough. I'm going to check this book out, thanks for the review

Nice, so many times we need our arms and hands with out balancing or carrying our valuables in a regular purse for thieves to snatch.
